The Proud Turtle

Once upon a time, there was a turtle who lived in Ohio.

He wanted to spend the winter in Florida, but he knew he could never walk that far, so he convinced a couple of geese to help him.

Each goose was going to take one end of a piece of rope, while the turtle was going to clamp his vise-like jaws in the center.

The trip to Florida was going as planned until another goose flew by and said, “Wow, that’s really smart – who’s idea was it?”

The turtle was filled with pride and said, “It was meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.”

Sorta reminds me of Proverbs 16:18, which says that pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
