Good Health

This blog post is taken from my Seminar Notes, and in Isaiah 61:3, God says (concerning those who grieve), that He will give them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.

And this Bible verse is very real to me, because in my life, God turned a situation that seemed negative into something positive… and here’s what happened.

When I was in my 20’s, I was so focused on growing spiritually, that I didn’t pay attention to my physical health, and as a result, I ended up very sick for several years.

Once I realized that my ability to serve the Lord was greatly affected by my physical health, I started taking better care of myself physically, and as a result, I’m in better health than the vast majority of people my age.

And if the Lord wills and if I live, I expect the next 30 years to be more productive than the last 30.

I’m sharing this with you so that you can start right now, regardless of your age, to begin taking care of yourself physically so that your ability to serve the Lord in the future will be greater than it is today.

And my final thought for this subject is… if you don’t eat for health and find time to exercise today, then in the future, there’s a good possibility that you’ll be forced to find time to deal with your health problems.
