There are only four things that you can do with your time.
You can invest it, you can spend it, you can waste it, or you can abuse it.
Whenever you hear someone talk about “Killing Time”, they’re actually wasting time and they’re “Killing their opportunities to become Successful”.
The secret of getting ahead is quite often getting started.
And the secret of getting started is to break your complex, overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and then start on the first one.
Of course, these aren’t really secrets, but if they were, one of the secrets to getting started would be to set deadlines.
I was reading chapter 2 of the book of Nehemiah, and the king asked Nehemiah, “How long will your journey be, and when will you return?”
The king asked for a deadline, and I plan to follow his example, because I think that one of the keys to getting things done is to set deadlines!
I also think that setting deadlines is very important when delegating tasks, and I’m gonna guess that you set deadlines and that you work hard to meet those deadlines because this is what winners do and you are a winner.
