Setting Goals will set you apart from everyone else! If you’re a professional salesperson (Remember we’re ALL salespeople), if you make a living by selling something, then your ability to set goals, and then to make clear, written plans for their accomplishment is what’s going to set you apart from everyone else. Successful salespeople have very clear sales and income goals and they’ve broken them down by the year, by the month, by the week, by the day, and by the hour. When they get up in the morning, they’re employed. When they get up, they already know what their goals are for the day. They know where they’re going. They know what they’ve got to do to get there. How about you? Do you wake up each and every day with clearly defined goals? If you don’t have any goals yet, it’s okay to start small and build up from there! Before you do anything else – write down at least two goals you’d like to accomplish today.. they can be simple… but they have to be written.  What is it about you that cries out to everybody that you are a winner? If you’re given enough time, why will everybody know that you are a winner?

Full Transcript: Hi, this is Don Howe, and I think it’s time, once again, to talk about “Selling and Goals”. If you’re a professional salesperson, if you make a living by selling something, then your ability to set goals, and then to make clear, written plans for their accomplishment is what’s going to set you apart from everyone else. Of course, you’ve got to follow through on your plans, but without clear, written plans, you’re like an archer trying to hit a target that you can’t see. Can you imagine shooting an arrow, hoping to hit a target that you can’t even see?! Not only is it a target that you can’t see, but you don’t even know where it’s at! In other words, it’s out there somewhere, but you haven’t clearly defined it. Am I talking about a target for an arrow or am I talking about trying to hit a goal when it comes to selling? It’s out there somewhere, but you haven’t clearly defined it. Ok, this is about selling, but it could apply to personal growth or, for that matter, it could apply to life in general. The fact of the matter is you can’t hit a target that you can’t see, and successful people have goals that they’re aiming for. Successful salespeople have very clear sales and income goals and they’ve broken them down by the year, by the month, by the week, by the day, and by the hour. Successful salespeople know exactly what they have to do every working day, every working hour to achieve their goals. When they get up in the morning, they’re employed. When they get up, they already know what their goals are for the day. They know where they’re going. They know what they’ve got to do to get there. How about you?
