Pursuing Excellence – Golden Nugget #239

Some of my random thoughts and quotes concerning Pursuing Excellence are as follows.

John Maxwell said that people who are highly competent are committed to excellence, they never settle for being average or mediocre.

They pay attention to detail, and they perform with consistency.

John Johnson said that Success bases our worth on a comparison with others, while Excellence gauges our value by measuring us against our own potential.

Dr. Robert Schuller said that “It’s better to attempt something great and fail, than to attempt nothing and succeed.”

Why is it so important to Pursue Excellence?

Well let me tell you.  If 99.9 percent was good enough, then 22,000 checks would be deducted from the wrong bank accounts and twelve babies would be given to the wrong parents every single day.

Yes, it’s important to pursue excellence and pay attention to detail.

And the last quote that I’d like to share for this Golden Nugget comes from Dale Carnegie, who said, “If you do little jobs well, then the big ones tend to take care of themselves.”

So the next time you’re tempted to cut corners – or do a mediocre job, remember to pursue excellence, because this is what winners do, and you are a winner!
