In the late 1800s, America was in the grip of a terrible depression, and a man named Orison Swett Marden, decided to write a book to motivate and inspire others to persist and carry on in spite of the difficulties that were facing the nation.
He put together hundreds and hundreds of pages of notes and as he neared the completion of his book, the place in which
he was staying caught on fire and all of his work went up in smoke.
Being a man of determination – a man who possessed a Positive Mental Attitude, he started writing his book again.
His book, entitled “Pushing to the Front” was eventually published and it became the runaway bestseller in the nation.
The book exerted an enormous impact throughout the country, and it became the greatest single classic when it comes to personal development.
People like Thomas Edison, Harvey Firestone, Henry Ford and J. P. Morgan all read this book and they were all inspired by it.
Orison Swett Marden says in his book that, there are two essential requirements for success.
The first is “get-to-it-iveness”, and the second is “stick-to-it-iveness”.
In other words – get started and once you’re started… persevere.
I’m gonna guess that you’re the type of person who gets started and that you’re also the type of person who perseveres, because these are characteristics of a winner, and you are a winner!
