Is it a Crisis or an Opportunity?

What’s the difference between a crisis and an opportunity?

It’s been said that if you’re an optimist, there is no difference.

This is because a pessimist sees an opportunity is a crisis waiting to happen, while an optimist sees a crisis as an opportunity waiting to happen.

For example, a Pessimist says “I got hired, and I now have the risk of getting fired.”

On the other hand, an Optimist says; “I got fired – there must be a better job waiting for me.”

How you view your circumstances is quite often more important that the actual circumstances.

Henry Ford said that “Failure is the opportunity to begin again… but this time more intelligently.

Yes, those who show great skill when opportunity presents itself, are only able to do so because they’ve paid the price to prepare for that opportunity.

Even something as simple as listening to and/or watching these Golden Nuggets on a regular basis can help you prepare for any opportunities that might arise.

Small consistent actions, over time, make a big difference.

We’re constantly faced with choices to make:

Will I work on Personal Development or will I play a video game?

Will I watch something motivational or will I watch a YouTube Video?

I’m not saying that you should never have fun, but you’ve got to be intentional about personal development or it simply won’t happen.

Victor Kiam said that Procrastination is opportunity’s assassin.

With this in mind, do what you’re supposed to do – when you’re supposed to do it.

Furthermore, realize that when you walk through the door of opportunity, you’re not going to find the promised land…  you’re simply going to find more opportunities.

And finally, make sure to build good relationships, because in times of difficulty, good relationships are a shelter – and in times of opportunity, they’re a launching pad.

Of course, you know these things and you work on personal development and you work on personal relationships… because this is something that winners do, and you are a winner, and given enough time, you WILL Win – Yes, you ARE a Winner.

Hi, this is Don Howe, and the topic for this Golden Nugget is Opportunity, and this is part 5 of 5, and I’m basically sharing some random thoughts that I’ve written down over the years… and I’d like to start out by asking you a question – and here it is.

“What’s the difference between a crisis and an opportunity?”

One more time…
