How People View Things

This blog post is taken from my book Golden Nuggets, and it’s simply a reminder that not all people view things the same way.

For example, if several people were to walk down the beach together, their recollections of the experience might be very different.

One person might remember how the sun felt on his or her skin, and the sand felt on his or her feet.

Another person might remember how the water looked and the vivid the sunset colors were.

Another person might be able to describe the sound of the waves and the birds.

And yet, another person might remember the smell of the salt air mixed with the smell of suntan lotion.

Each of us processes information in a different way, and if you can figure out how those around you experience the world, and if you really try to experience the same world that they do, then you’ll be amazed at how effective your communication will become.
