Eat That Frog

This blog post is taken from my book Golden Nuggets, and it’s a great idea to overcome procrastination.

It goes like this…

Brian Tracy says that one way to stop procrastinating is to compare your most difficult task each day, to that of eating a frog.

Imagine that each day, you’re required to eat a live, slimy frog.

If you eat the frog the first thing in the morning, then you will have probably already experienced the worst thing that’ll happen to you that day.

You probably have frogs hidden on your desk and on your to-do lists.

Your frogs are the tasks that you know are priorities, but that you’ve put on the back burner for whatever reason.

If you go ahead and tackle those difficult tasks first, then the rest of the day becomes easy.

Therefore, figure out what frog you have to deal with today, and once you eat it, the rest of the day will become much easier.
