Anxiety and Stress

“Do you think that successful people have as much anxiety and stress as people who are not successful?”

And the answer is, “Absolutely! And maybe even more!”

However, highly successful people use anxiety and stress to spur them on to achievement instead of allowing those feelings to depress them into failure. It’s all about the way people respond to events.

You can use anxiety and stress to spur you on to great achievement or you can allow it to sink you into the depths of despair. The good news is the choice is up to you!

Tom Hopkins says that you have three options when it comes to dealing with stress.

First of all, you can keep it bottled up, but everyone knows that it’s not good to keep stress bottled up inside of you.

Second, you can allow stress to spill out by itself, and this usually produces illness, apathy, sudden outbursts of anger, too much eating, too much drinking, drug abuse, or simply talking too much.

Or third, you can make plans and deal with stress accordingly.

For example, you can laugh. Laughing is one of the best and quickest ways to lower the amount of tension that you’re feeling.

Or you can sweat. Physical exercise reduces tension.

Or you can take direct action. Some people sit around getting tense instead of taking direct action to attack the problem, because they’re too fearful, too confused, or too lazy to do what they know they should do.

And finally, Tom Hopkins says that you can deal with stress by taking indirect action.

For example, regret can cause an enormous amount of stress. You can’t change the past, but you can replace regret with constructive action. Tell yourself, “I’m going to work my way out of this thing. I’m going to get so busy that I don’t have time to dwell on the past.”

Thousands of years ago, King Solomon, said, “A relaxed attitude lengthens a man’s life”, so learn how to deal with and reduce stress in your life.

Of course, you know this already, because you are a winner, and given enough time, you WILL win! Yes, you ARE a winner!
